Students working together in study space

Professor Anne Murphy, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), invites colleagues to a series of drop-in sessions to share ideas on issues like reducing withdrawals, improving outcomes, and understanding the portfolio.

Anne Murphy, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education)

I'm now three months into my role as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and I have been talking to colleagues and spending time considering what we need to achieve and how.

Some priorities needed to be acted upon quickly and I would like to inform colleagues about that, while other things need more thought and consultation and we want to make space to hear colleagues’ views.

During March I will be hosting a series of drop-in sessions for colleagues to discuss ideas and concerns around the following topics:

  • Reducing the number of withdrawals
  • Rationalisation and standardisation, where possible
  • Improving outcomes
  • Understanding the portfolio and encouraging business development
  • Moving some priorities to ‘business as usual’, re-emphasising others

Please watch this video which explores these areas in greater depth ahead of joining me at one of the following sessions to discuss and hear more.

If you’re unable to attend in-person please email me at anne.murphy@port.ac.uk. We’re also exploring an option for an online session later in the month.
